Each example below contains an idiom related to food.  Can you guess the meaning of each idiom from the context?  Try to match each idiom (1-6) with its definition (a-f).

  • What?  You paid $700 for these pants?  Are you nuts?

  • John is very good at mathematics, so the math test yesterday was a piece of cake for him.

  • I like shopping at Uniqlo because I can buy quite nice clothes for peanuts.

  • Don't just sit in front of the TV all day!  You are becoming a couch potato!

Idiom Definition
1.  nuts a.  something that does not work (usually an electrical appliance or mechanical item)
2.  a piece of cake b.  very cheap; a small amount of money
3.  peanuts c.  to go crazy
4.  a couch potato d.  something that is very easy to do
5.  a lemon e.  very crazy
6.  to go bananas f.  someone who spends a lot of time sitting in front of the TV.
